CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

We've got several organizations aimed at making desired improvements to our social health, well-being and overall functioning.  Variations of size and structure exist within these organizations.  Some are formally incorporated; others are much smaller, more informal, and grassroots.

Major County Cattlemen's Association

​The purpose of the Major County Cattlemen’s Association is to promote the welfare of the livestock industry throughout Major County, keep members informed on any new legislation that may affect our county’s producers, encourage the branding or marking of livestock for identifying purposes, record and register such brands and marks within the MCCA, help prevent the theft of livestock, promote education programs affecting the livestock industry, promote improved methods of land and water conservation, build major county FFA and 4-H programs and activities related to agriculture enterprises, and promote the improvement of the livestock industry in general.

A weekday gathering spot for seniors to fellowship over lunch (buffet), games and other entertainment.

Major County Historical Society

​The Major County Historical Society and Museum has the main complex that was built in 1985 with money donated by Augusta Specht. The complex includes an entrance area with various artifacts from Major County and Oklahoma History, including a quilt in honor of Augusta Specht, a former school teacher in Major County in the early 20th century; the Specht gallery, which displays historical cookware, children's toys, and fashion throughout Oklahoma history; a conference room in which the board holds their monthly meetings and other various activities; an office; and the Sand Creek Village Museum, which houses historical farming equipment and military artifacts, including a replica Civil War cannon.

Dedicated to preserving local education history.

Fairview Wranglers

Established in 1964, the Wranglers host the Fairview Wrangler Rodeo every July and a few special events throughout the year.

Fairview Hospital Association

A 501c3 dedicated to raising funds for local hospital efforts.

Gloss Mountain Conservancy

The Conservancy is a not-for-profit, 501c3, volunteer organization created to promote and enhance recreational
and educational opportunities while preserving the natural environment of the Gloss Mountains. The Conservancy
partners with Oklahoma Tourism and Recreational Department, the City of Fairview, Major County Economic
Development, and other volunteer organizations to expand and maintain the Gloss Mountain State Park.

​Fairview Boy Scouts of America Troop 125 and Pack 227

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.  There are four aims of Scouting: citizenship, character, personal fitness, and leadership.  The methods of Cub Scouting are: living the ideals, belonging to a den, advancement, family involvement, activities, serving the community, and the uniform.

Royal Theatre Foundation

​The Royal Theatre Foundation filed articles of incorporation with the State of Oklahoma on January 12, 2015, and has 501c3 tax-exempt status with the IRS.  The Royal Theatre Foundation's specific purpose is for the preservation, maintenance and improvement of the historic Royal Theatre to provide the people of Fairview and surrounding area access to a movie theatre and other cultural and educational activities through the use of the Royal Theatre.

​Progressive Spirit Foundation is a non profit entity that was created to serve Major County through the furthering of arts, culture, education, medical, health, infrastructure improvement, and youth programs.
